AltSource Boiler Back-up Tank
The perfect complement to renewable energy
The AltSource tank is unique in that is designed as a perfect complement to renewable energy systems. It is a great match with our ATW Air-to-Water airsource heat pump system. In temperatures below -21C (5F), this tank provides back-up heating to the ATW system. In warmer temperatures this tank serves as a well-insulated storage tank.
The tank has 4 dedicated ports: 1″ (50 Gallon model) or 1 1/4″ (70 Gallon model). Two ports for Supply and Return connection to the renewable energy system and two ports for Supply and Return to the house heating distribution system.
The tank has its own control system with use of outdoor sensor via its UltraSmartTM Controller. The ATW controls seamlessly integrate with the AltSource controls, allowing for the ATW to control the heating elements of the tank.
